The areas commercial uses are concentrated around International Boulevard. The City’s employment base is forecast to increase by 35% by 2020, according to the most recent version of the SeaTac Comprehensive Plan. This is partially due to the airport implementing a 10-year, $4.2 billion capital improvement program that will expand the airports current 3 runway configuration. The major employers in SeaTac are connected to the airport and include airlines, hotels, airplane manufacturers, and services such as pay parking that serve air travelers
The Seattle mass transit project is underway with the 200th street stop only 3/4ths of a mile North of the Site. Long-range plans include review and completion of the Federal Way Transit expansion, which includes the Highline College station’s planned location roughly 1.5 miles South of the site.
